A New Iberia home, open to every family.
Evangeline Funeral Home has been a fixture in New Iberia for generations. It wasn't always a funeral home: the two-story antebellum home was built between 1901 and 1904 by the Dietlein family on its original site on East Saint Peter Street.
In 1940 the home was purchased by the Cletus Landry family, and it opened in 1941 as Evangeline Funeral Home. We still uphold the tradition of exceptional service and care set forth by the Landry family.
As the years went by, the funeral home grew. Locations opened in St. Martinville in 1951 and in Delcambre in 1960, and in 1955 additional parlor space was added here in New Iberia. On November 6, 1986, Dalton L. Babineaux Jr. purchased the funeral home from the Landry family and operated it until July 1, 1997.
In 2007 we joined the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers.
